Purpose

The Foundation’s purpose is to actively preserve and restore sites of historical character and significance and oversee their management so that the community is enhanced by retaining these links to the past

So often, progress means doing away with the past.  In South Placer County, citizens realized the value of not only preserving the past, but offering opportunities to bring the community together. The Foundation works with residents to encourage the preservation, appreciation, and enjoyment of historic sites & buildings to keep alive the memories of the past and open new horizons.

The Foundation initially focused on the fruit sheds in downtown Loomis. These buildings were previously the basis for the town's economy. Currently, the Blue Goose Shed is being further renovated to accommodate performances and events as well as provide meeting spaces for business and community groups. The building will continue to retain its historic character while housing small business tenants. (Click for more on Renovation project) Fundraising and in-kind donations are still needed to continue this multi phase project. (Click to learn about contributing).
